Sisters Sisters

My mom and I ran into Junko and Yasuko Ohta, sisters from Shinjuku, Tokyo at the Guggenheim Museum. Their friend told us that the twins, who are always together, are singers known in Japan as the Cabbage Sisters. They used to live in New York and now come to visit once a year. Their friend was kind enough to send some extra photos of these two lovely ladies. I admired their matching floral dresses with ruffled collars and rhinestone buttons!

Advanced Artist: Sue Kreitzman

Sue Kreitzman is an artist out of England, who curated a show called Wild Old Women, showcasing the work of women middle aged to elderly. She came into the New Museum dressed in wonderful clothing made by her friend Lauren Shanley who accompanied her along with jewelry designer Amanda Caines. Sue was included in her first art show at the age of 65 and she continues to work and inspire others today.

Stay Green

I’ve taken many pictures of folks who are so loyal to their favorite colors that they dress head to toe in these special hues. This lady brightened my day when I saw her shopping in Whole Foods. She not only wears green, but apparently lives green as well, by bringing her own reusable shopping bag to the store!
