The other day I ran into Vogue Brazil’s enchanting contributor, Constanza Pascolato, in front of the Plaza Hotel. I have always admired her style and was thrilled to hear that she has been following Advanced Style from the very beginning. She told me that it’s so important to show images of older women and revealed that she would never want to try and look younger than she is. At 73-years old Constanza is a true Advanced Style icon. I hope to travel to Brazil sometime soon and hear more about her refreshing attitude towards aging and style.

Yoga In Central Park
Top thrifted, Pants from Forever 21 |
My dear friend Debra Rapoport and I took a walk through Central Park on the first warm day of Spring. She had just come from Yoga class and I asked her if she could repeat some poses for a few pictures. I hope to have even half of her energy and creative spirit when I’m 70.
Life Imitating Art
When I was young I would spend hours with my grandmother watching old movies and drawing pictures of fancy older ladies. When I moved to New York, I saw my childhood drawings come to life on the city streets. The women I photograph are a reflection of everything my grandmother taught me about life and style. A few days ago I photographed this striking lady in the East Village. Isn’t she a wonderful inspiration for a new drawing?!!!
