We celebrated the launch of my book last night at the New Museum with all of the Advanced Style Ladies. Click Here to see some great images  from the party and I’ll try to post some soon as well. On another note my dear friend Ilona Royce Smithkin is heading to the coast to spend the summer in Provincetown. I will miss her dearly, but hope to make a visit to her studio by the sea sometime in July.

I stopped by Ilona Royce Smithkin’s apartment to show her a copy of the Advanced Style book. Check out her reaction to seeing herself in print, in the video above. The book also includes an amazing conversation between Ilona and Dita Von Teese! I’m having a great time showing all the ladies their photographs in my book and can’t wait to celebrate its release May 22.

When I need a little bit of cheering up I call up my great friend Ilona Royce Smithkin. She always has the best advice and helps me to put things into perspective. The other day we were having lunch and I was showing her  all the comments on a post I had done about her. She loves the fact that she can share her lifetime of experience with others. Ilona is an artist, a teacher, and a style icon. She wanted to share a few words with anyone who is having a hard day, so we made the short video above.
