It’s been an exiting week in New York for the Advanced Style ladies. Ilona just got back from her summer in Provincetown to sit front row at the Karen Walker fashion show. I had the privilege of shooting last season’s Karen Walker Eyewear campaign , featuring  the gorgeous women above, so it was great fun to have a reunion at Karen’s incredible runway show.

The Official Advanced Style Coloring Book Coming September

I’m excited to finally share the official Advanced Style Coloring Book cover and bonus Ilona paper-doll back page with everyone. The book will include games, an interview page, and 30 original drawings of stylish seniors (based on my photos) by my pal Ilan Schraer. Look out for the coloring book, in stores September 3, and to pre-order a copy CLICK HERE .

A Visit to Provincetown

Ilona Monitoring at Sketch Class in Provincetown

For the last 50 years Ilona has been spending her summers in Provincetown, Mass. She fills her days with swimming and painting and drawing in her bay side studio. Visiting Ilona on the Cape is always one of the highlights of my summer. Check out the video of Ilona singing Happy Birthday to our dear friend Kristopher below. (Sorry for the sound, but it was a very windy day!)

Coach x Advanced Style: Generations of Style

When Coach approached me about working with them on a digital project, I immediately thought about how their classic bags have such a broad customer base. I have always been interested in the intersection between the fashion choices of the young and old and noticed that young girls often seem to take sartorial inspiration, whether conscious or not, from older women. With these thoughts in mind, Lina and I worked together to create a series of inter-generational conversations between the Advanced Style ladies and some of our favorite bloggers. Check out the videos above featuring: Susie Lau and Ilona Royce Smithkin, Nadia Sarwar and Linda Rodin, and Leandra Medine and Lynn Dell for some ageless style wisdom.
